I started out doing side jobs for neighbors here in Redmond, a short walk here and a cracked step there, and by 2013 there was enough work to make it a real business. I learned the trade on the job, mostly by asking older finishers a lot of questions and breaking up old slabs to see why they failed. Old concrete is pretty honest once you get it open. It usually tells you exactly who skipped the base.
These days we're best known for the jobs that take some figuring out, like cutting into an old slab, a settled foundation or a wall on a tight lot. Most calls come from homeowners, and some from small business owners with a lot or a walk to sort out. Either way, I care more about what's under the concrete and where the water runs than the finish everyone sees, and I'd rather spend extra time working out why the old slab failed than pour a new one that fails the same way.
